Ann Arbor Teddy Bear Show Review 2009 Bright Star

Bright Star Promotions' Annual Show was held at the Weber's Inn
Ann Arbor, MI - Sunday November 15, 2009

Prior to the opening of the show, Valerie Rogers, the show's promoter presented Donna Griffin (Donna and the Bears) with a Winners Certificate. Her bear was selected for the collector's invitation postcards.

Ken Yenke's Presentation at the Museum

During the show Ken appraised many lovely old bears. Read the complete appraisal feature article.

Ken Yenke and his wife Brenda, love teddy bears and most of their collection can be seen at the Chelsea Teddy Bear Factory and Toy Museum in Chelsea, Michigan where he is curator.

Winter scene of bears, toys and collectibles is just one of the display cases you'll enjoy at the museum.

Brenda adds her special touch to the display cases at the museum.

Collector's Choice Contest

Valerie announces that Donna Griffin, Jackie Pollitt and Chris Herron are the top winners in the Collector's Choice Contest.

The collectors attending the show voted for the bear they like best and the artists won ribbons and gifts.

"It's so hard to pick just one favorite. They are all so wonderful," commented several collectors.

First Place: Jackie Pollitt of Threadbears for her bear Quiyceng.

Second Place: Donna Griffin

from Donna and the Bears for her panda's called Dickens and Tim.

Third Place: Chris Herron of
Chris' Creations for her Santa bear called Nicholas.

Getting in the spirit of the holiday, Donna and Valerie donned Santa hats!

Near the closing of the show, Valerie dressed in a Santa hat, passed out gifts to the artists.

"Ann Arbor is the last show of our season, we celebrate the occasion and we will miss seeing each other until we once again meet in the 2010 Spring Bright Star Promotion's shows.

Good Bears of the World raffled off a darling bear.

Terrie Stong, Chairbear of GBW, asked Valerie to pick a lucky winner!

The bear was mailed to the winner who was not present at the show!

Your support helps GBW keep bears in the arms of those in need of a hug.
