Show Review and Memories |

Sunday July 24, 2011 - Concourse Hotel Airport - Columbus, Ohio |

The weather was very hot the day of the show, and even a morning rain shower did not cool things off. The collectors were 'hot' to see the bears! They arrived early and couldn't wait to get a sneak peek of what was behind the closed doors. When the show opened they were thrilled to know that the show continues on, even in the hard economic times. "The new Gallery Show gives me more time to see the bears," said one collector, while another announced "There are more bears per square inch here!" Throughout the show, happy chatter and laughter was heard and many of us witnessed lots of bear hugs, both from the artists to the collectors and from the collectors to their new teddy bears! |

Is your beloved old bear worth $10,000? Ask Ken Yenke! |

"I love seeing the bears in such great condition," says Ken. Proceeds from the appraisals go to Good Bears of the World. Written appraisals are always good to have for insurance purposes. "When a bear is photographed with it's original owner, the value increases," said Ken. "And when the grand children hold the bear for a photo, the value increases even more!" |
Karen L. from Columbus, OH wanted to know about her little bear. "It's a German Carnival Bear," began Ken, "Hermansque like Tessie Schnauzer items."
|
Shirley T. from Heath OH, rolled in several bears in a carrier for Ken to appraise. Her bears date to 1906 and 1910. "I'm always excited to hear what Ken says about the history of each bear," she says. |

Nancy and Louis D, from Brownsburg, IN brought in her little lamb from her childhood. "It's an American Character or Knickerbocker Plush Crib Toy," explained Ken. |
