Each participating artist is asked to submit bear photos for consideration for the collector's invitation postcard. The Spring Schaumburg Postcard winner is Judy Mathis of Judy's Raggedy Country. Valerie Rogers, the show's promoter awarded Judy Winner's Certificate and offered congratulations for the cute bear photo that was used.

Valerie welcomed Berta Hensen-Minten all the way from the Netherlands. Berta is an award winning International Teddy Bear Artists who specializes in miniature crochet and needle felted bears and critters. She is also a contributing writer to Bears&Buds, the online teddy bear magazine.


Bobbie Ripperger demonstrated needle felting to the collectors, "Let me show you how easy it is!" And Bobbie does make the technique look so easy!

Collector's strolled around the showroom with plenty of space and time to chat with everyone. "It's my favorite day of the year!" remarked one collector.
Lucky Winners of Star Bucks!

Vicky H. from New Castle, IN gave out a scream of joy when hearing her name was drawn for $20 Star Buck. "I'll put it to good use!"

Jennifer V. from Springfield, OH was exited to win a $20 Star Buck to spend on teddy bears!

"We stayed around until the drawing," said Dawn D. from Pinckney, MI, "and I'm so happy to have won!"
 

Cindy B. from Fort Wayne, IN brought a Character bear from 1940, that had been passed to her as a child by her Mom. "He's a darling 8" mohair bear with shoe button eyes!"

"I found this little bear at a yard sale," said Diane S. from Indianapolis, IN, "Ken said it was an 18" American Hecla from 1906-1907 and worth 5 times what I paid for it," she beamed!
Saturday's Workshop

Bobbie Ripperger showed each student the fine techniques of needle felting. They each made a bear on a canvas tote bag. (Bear's front and back side!)
