Friday activites with the artists and collectors.

Connie Schmidt found bears at the antique mall, "They are so colorful!"

Sue and Jacquie admired antiques and many inspired their creativity and will be used as accessories for their bears.

Jim and Sue discovered an old spool case as they prowled around the antique mall.
"We never know what we will find!"

Smitty, Connie and George strolled along the street looking into all the quaint shops.

After strolling around town for hours, we all stopped for a rest and a beverage before going to dinner. "The weather was great. Nice to be out of our cold winter bear dens'!"

Artists, collectors and friends enjoyed a delicious dinner at Brennen's on Main Street.

Jerry Franks walked along the cobblestone sidewalks in downtown St. Charles, "I'm measuring the sidewalk!"

Jim Van Natten warmed his feet by the open fire pit but did he get a little too close?

Now he's known as "hot-Foot-Jim!"

This is an optical illusion.
His shoe was not really on fire nor was he hurt.

The doors opened at 10 a.m. and a steady stream of collectors milled around the showroom selecting their favorite bears and chatting with the artists.

The new Gallery Style Show was a big hit, it gave the collectors more time to visit and discover more bears to add to their collection.

Everyone was very happy with the new location and lovely hotel.

We'll be back next year!

Valerie presented Terry Stong, Executive director of Good Bears of the World, with an arm load of teddy bears! Good Bears of the World distributes teddy bears to fire and police departments where the officers can give a traumatised child a loving bear. Please support them with your cash donation to buy more bears to distribute worldwide.

Mary Jo S. from Kirkwood brought in her Mother's childhood teddy bear to the show. The Steiff bear has a horizontal stitch nose and stands about 10" tall. We could not determine if it had a side push squeaker then it is from 1905 and if the squeaker is in the front, the bear was made in 1907 and valued at $1500-$2000

Rich K. from Ballwin, MO, who has been collecting bears for years now, won another bear to join the others. He was happy to win a door prize too!

$20 Star Bucks

Drawings were throughout the show and a few o the lucky winners are shown here.

They used their "Star Bucks" to buy more bears and show merchandise.

Bobbie G. from Glen Carbon, IL was happy to win one of the $20 Star Bucks to spend on bears at the show.

Marilyn K. a collector who attends the show regularly, was another lucky winner of a $20 door prize. "I'll by more bears!"

See you next year!

Mark your calendar for Sunday March 27, 2011 when we once again return to the Holiday Inn SW Viking Center!
