Bright Star Promotions' Second Annual
Tampa Florida Teddy Bear Show/Sale

Sunday February 24, 2008 at the Westshore Hotel

Valerie, the shows promoter, presented Pat Berkowitch (Babcock Bears) with a Winner's Certificate for her bears photograph used on the show invitation postcards.

The Morning Eye Opener with the Artists Event attracted many of the area early birds.

They enjoyed coffee, fruits, pastries, cheeses, juice and informative and fun presentations were given by several of the artists.

Sally Root (Anduins Bears) was one of the presenters  during the Morning Eye Opener Event. She spoke about the fibers used in needle felting.

Terrie Stong, chairperson of Good Bears of the World spoke from her heart about the Joy of Giving.

A drawing was held and gifts given to those lucky collectors.

Jane Woodard (Heir Bears) is known for making bears from old coats. Her presentation was all about furs and how to identify several varieties.

Martha Burch (Martha's Bears) shared her knowledge about what's inside a bear. Laughter abounded when she talked about stuffing!
Collector's stuffed the ballot boxes voting for their favorite bear on display. A hard choice with so many lovely bears to choose from.

Top three winners are (L to R): Pat Younderin (Long Long Ago, Collectibles), Marilyn Wagner (Quilts n' Critters), and Pat Berkowitch (Babcock Bears) but each wonder about their placement as Valerie (r) presents the ribbons.

Best of Show - Collector's Choice Ribbon was presented to Pat Younderin.

Diane buys the Collector's Choice - Second Place Winner bear from Pat Berkowitch (Babcock Bears).

Valerie Rogers and Terrie Stong agree that keeping a couple of GBW brown bears in your car and gifting them to those in need of a hug, is wonderful and it is the magic of teddy bears. It's what they do best!

Early Bird shoppers enjoyed seeing all the bears and chatting with the artists before the show opened to the public.

George Weber (Chatham Village Bears) greeted collectors and his table was nearly bare by the end of the show.

Dian Pete (Bears for Pete's Sake) was happy to be in Florida and away from Wisconsin's cold weather. Many of her bears opted to stay in Florida!

Trish Hansford (Bears from Two Hearts) was excited as this was her first show to exhibit her bears. Collectors enjoyed her creations by adopting so many.

Carol Hess (Bruinytown Growlers) bears found their way to new bear homes too.

Dixie Huffman (Dixie Dollings) brightly dressed bears brought a smile to everyone's face.

Carola Lange (CalaBears) flew in from Manitoba, Canada, taking in the Florida sun and exhibiting her bear creations. "It was way below zero at home and 80 degrees feels so wonderful," she said.

Nancy Donitgney (Dog Patch Critters) makes bears and dogs that delight the collector too.

Charlotte Doster (The Hen Nest) brought collector bears to the show.

Whimsy and characters abound on Judy Epolito's table (Ashenberry Collectible Bears).

Patti Thomas (Ivy Rose Bears) returns to the show circuit with her hand-sculpt, personal likeness teddy bears.

Martha Burch's (Martha's Bears) creations captured the attention of collectors too!

Marilyn Wagner (Quilts n Critters) beams as bears jumped off her table and into collectors' arms!

You definitely need your glasses on to see all the details of Theresa's miniature bears. (The World of Miniature Bears)

Time to make more bears, Pete Eppolito (Edinburgh Imports) sold yards of mohair to the artists.

Pat Younderin (Long Long Ago Collectibles) added sunshine to the show. Beaming winner!

Nancy Dane (Bentley & Buddies) smiles as her bears attract attention and she gets to meet more collectors.

Skipper Root (Andruins Bears) are a colorful addition to the show.

Jane Woodard (Heir Bears) transforms that old fur coat just hanging in your closet to a collectible heirloom.

Club Members from Orlando area showed their new bears. "We enjoyed being with each other and hunting for bears!" they said.

Steve Schott signed his bear's paw for Gwen, an avid collector.

More bears for Gwen. "I bought Denim from Bears For Pete's Sake - Dian Pete," she beamed.

It is so much fun, during a show, to meet, being with friends and chatting with the artists.

Paul Graham and Susan, both are supports of Good Bears of the World, share smiles and bear hugs.

Susan added many beautiful bears to her collection!

Terrie Stong of Good Bears of the World presents the lucky winners, Ed and Mary with a basket of bear related gifts and the popular brown GBW teddy bear.
