Tips on using GreenBags
Use one bag for each type of produce. Keep lettuce in one, grapes in another, and squash in another, etc. because each variety exudes ethylene at a different rate.
Produce should be clean of any dirt and dried before placing in the GreenBags.
With some produce it is recommended to slip a clean paper towel under the veggies to help absorb some of the moisture.
Store produce in a cool dry place preferably in the refrigerator this retards the bacteria from forming or growing.
Rinse the used GreenBags under clean water, I do not recommend using soap. Hang on the side of the refrigerator using a clip, or hang on a towel rack to dry. Or wipe out with a clean paper towel.
I set bunches of fresh herbs with their stems, in a small glass with water, then store the herbs in GreenBag tented over the top. I put it all in the refrigerator. I harvest fresh herbs for my cooking. I’m amazed at how long the GreenBags protect the expensive herbs. Cut flowers last longer when a large GreenBags is placed over the arrangement at night.
Recently I bought a big clear plastic container of organic spinach and not wanting to handle the delicate leaves I placed a folded GreenBag on top of the remainder, put the top back on the container. Three weeks later the spinach was still fresh and sweet.

While on our yacht we find GreenBags of great value, as heat and humidity often spoil fresh food. Oranges, lemons, mangos, head lettuce stay fresh, even when not refrigerated.

Our daughter’s wedding was postponed and I put all the fresh flower corsages and boutonniere’s in GreenBags. Two weeks later the flowers were as fresh as the day I put them in the GreenBags.

Avocados will hardly ripen in GreenBags, so I can buy large quantities when they are on sale. I remove the avocados a couple of days before I plan to use them. They ripen evenly in a basket.

It amazes me how fresh broccoli stays while stored in GreenBags. Using these bags has saved me trips to the store and ended disposing costly spoiled vegetables and fruits. Thank you GreenBags

We bought a case of peaches while sightseeing. Not thinking at first that they’d all ripen at the same time! We reached for the GreenBags and placed about dozen in each large bag, then put them in the refrigerator. The peaches stayed firm and sweet for weeks. Peaches still took 3 days to ripen after removing them from the GreenBag.

Garlic always seemed to dry out and was never fresh enough for my gourmet cooking. I cut about 5 inches off the top of a large GreenBag, and wrapped it around the garlic head and left it on the kitchen counter. Now I have fresh garlic when ever I like! I still have the use of the large bag... only it isn't as large now!

The heads of cauliflower are huge this year and although I love it, I don't want to eat the whole thing in 2 or 3 consecutive days. After discovering GreenBags the cauliflower still is white and firm after 3 weeks!

“Works just as good as a humidor,” remarks my husband when he discovered how well his cigars keep fresh in GreenBags.

All About GreenBags
The natural caves found in Japan and used by the farmers to store their produce, were dark, cool, and dry. What is remarkable is the preserving properties the caves have on the produce. They discovered that the mountain caves consisted mostly of a clay called 'oya', which absorbed the ethylene gas that the produce naturally emits.
• You save money by not throwing out expensive spoiled fruits and vegetables.
• Produce stays fresh 3 to 10 times longer!
• Vitamin loss is reduced up to 50%.
• Each bag is reusable up to 8 - 10 times - each time period can be up to 3-5 weeks.
• Using food-saving GreenBags is considered environmentally friendly. By reducing food waste, you help limit greenhouse gases and cut down on energy costs. Food waste produces methane when it decays in landfills. Reduce your food waste and you help limit this greenhouse effect gas.
Combining this discovery with modern plastic's technology and manufacturing, GreenBags were developed. They are made in the USA in state-of-the-art, clean room facilities. The process carries a US Patent.

How others secure the top of the bags.
• Chip clips
• Alligator clips
• Wood or plastic clothes pins
• Paper clips
• Tie the top in a loose knot
• Hair clips
• Twisty ties although not recommended as
they can damage the bags.
• Rubber bands
• Twist the top, tuck under and place the bag
on the refrigerator shelf.
• Masking tape, duct tape and Scotch tape
all help keep the bag closed.
• Even colorful stickers can do the job.
• A new product, Velcro™-garden ties, works
well too.
• Or in a pinch, you can use a shoestring,
piece of yarn, string or ribbon.
Remember to squeeze out excess air but don't crush the produce, by removing some of the air in the GreenBags will help keep the produce fresher.
Often when we’ve bought large quantities of fresh corn from our local farmer’s market, it seems to get starchy. Using GreenBags has greatly helped prevent this from happening.

I date the GreenBags with a permanent marker and what to my surprise, I found a head of lettuce hiding in the back of my refrigerator. It was still fresh and crisp after five weeks!

My husband brought home a bushel of cucumbers, for just the two of us! I wrapped each in a paper towel and placed 4 cucumbers in a GreenBag. Stored them in the basement refrigerator. When I noticed the paper towels absorbing moisture, I re-wrap the cucumbers and place them back into the GreenBags. The cucumbers stayed so fresh!

Until I found GreenBags online, I was using two bags for over a year, taking good care to keep them clean and dry. Re-using them for fruits and vegetables from my garden. The new GreenBags work better but I still use the old ones for fruits such as oranges, lemons and nectarines. The old GreenBags still seem to be working! I'm amazed.

I like to puree vegetables for use in my sauces and soups (hiding the nutritional goodness from my picky children). To speed up my cooking, I pre-cut carrots, celery, green peppers, chili's, onions, squash and place a GreenBag in the bottom of an airtight container. They stay fresh for several weeks. Valerie
